Candied fruit


I bring to your attention an easy way to cook candied fruits.
Candied fruits are very tasty, without bitterness. They can be used in baked goods, or simply eaten like candy..
You can make candied fruits from oranges, lemons, limes. Candied fruits from grapefruit can taste bitter.
You can store candied fruits for 3-4 months.
From the specified amount of ingredients, about 500 g of candied fruits is obtained.
Ingredients

  • 3 oranges
  • 3 lemons
  • 3 tsp salt

syrup:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 150 ml water

also:

  • sugar (for rolling candied fruits)

Preparation

Cut oranges and lemons in half.

Take out the pulp.

Cut the crusts.

Pour 1 liter of water over the crusts.
Add 1 tsp. salt (to make the bitterness go away).

Boil.
Cook for 10 minutes.

Drain the water.
Rinse the crusts in cold water.

Pour 1 liter of water over the crusts.
Add 1 tsp. salt.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Drain the water again, rinse the crusts.
Pour 1 liter of water.
Add 1 tsp. salt.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Drain the water, rinse the crusts.

Mix water and sugar to make the syrup.
Boil.

Put the crusts in the syrup.
Cook, with a low boil, for 1.5-2 hours.

Let the syrup drain.

Roll candied fruits in sugar.

Lay out on parchment.
Dry at room temperature for 1-2 days.
